I am not sure who knows and who doesn't but over memorial day weekend my little Paige scared us to death...she stopped breathing for a minute or two, turned pale and then blue, it took a while until she was fully breathing and crying again. They admitted her to the hospital in Maryland (we were visiting Joe's parents) to observe her to see if she had sleep apnea or something else. All of her sleeping and vitals were great and after being in there two days we were told we were going to go home, but then a urine culture came back positive for a UTI and until they knew what bacteria it was and how to treat it we had to stay. So the next day they wanted to do a spinal tap to be sure it did go into the blood (meningitis) I don't recommend having your 3 month old have a spinal tap (very heartbreaking). All of the tests came back great, we were in the clear to go home after 4 days in the hospital. But they recommend having a renal ultrasound and a VCUG (tests if the urine goes back into the kidneys when bladder is full or when you pee which can cause an infection or a UTI) well we had the renal ultrasound done and it showed some abnormalities and the VCUG showed a positive result for vesicoureteral reflux at a level of 3-4, level 5 being the highest...we go see a urologist next week and from what I understand surgery may be necessary to prevent kidney damage...it is all a bit scary for a mom and there is a possibility they will want to test Haley, which will be very painful to watch (it isn't a pleasant test)....So long story short our little Paige is doing well otherwise but needs prayers that she gets better and what ever they recommend she comes thorough it with flying colors.
